Ruth Carolyn Scharold (Formerly Mary Justus CDP 1951-1971), 86, of Ft. Thomas, KY, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at The Highlands of Fort Thomas. Ruth was born November 13, 1931 to her parents the Late Justus and Clara (Schultz) Scharold. Ruth graduated from Villa Madonna College and went on to Xavier University for her Master’s Degree in education. Ruth taught many years as an elementary school teacher. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America, and loved to travel and play golf. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by three siblings: Margaret Reis, Jay Scharold and Lorraine Dougherty. She is survived by four siblings: Celeste Harrison, William (Joan) Scharold, Louis (Barbara) Scharold and Judy (Joe) Ott; also survived by many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Saint Philip Church, 1404 Mary Ingles Hwy, Melbourne, KY 41059 from 9:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Saint Mary Cemetery, Alexandria, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Norbert Frilling Education Fund, C\O Saint Phillip School, 1402 Mary Ingles Highway, Melbourne, KY 41059. Alexandria Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Ruth was a resident where I worked and I always enjoyed talking with her she was such a nice lady and I will miss her very much.
