Dorothy Henrietta Huppert Brown, age 98, died February 8, 2011 at Rosedale Manor Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Orville E. Brown. She was known as "Dolly" to her family and friends. Her siblings included her older brother Jack, her younger brothers Dale and Ray, and little sister Mary Anna. They lived in Melbourne, KY where Pop built their house. They survived the great Ohio River flood. She is survived by nieces, Harriet Huppert Gosney, Diane Huppert Rockerhousen, Pam Huppert Owen, Tammie Huppert Brooks, Dottie Bowen Barkac, Faye Brown Garver. Nephews, Donald Huppert and Jay Bowen. Dolly continued to be involved in many church activities, committees, volunteering at the hospital, and other worthwhile organizations. She supported Holly Hill Children's Home as well as others. Even in her later years she crocheted lap throws and gave them to the nursing homes and hospitals. Dolly has left us with many good memories and an example of how to live a rich full life that leaves a smile on the face of those who knew her. She touched us all with her love, her faith, and her integrity. As one of her nieces, Diane, wrote: "God is pleased today to receive our gift - Aunt Dolly. We should all be smiling for the good memories of her humor, kindness and charity, a dear soul that enriched our lives. We have truly been blessed." Visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm Friday, February 11th at the Alexandria Funeral Home with services following.
