Lena A. Scharfenberger

Lena A. Scharfenberger, age 92, of California, KY passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas. Lena was a volunteer for the VA Nursing Home in Ft. Thomas.  She was also an active member of Alexandria United Methodist Church and the Happy 100 senior club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert L. Scharfenberger in 2014. She is survived by her son, Brent (Anita) Scharfenberger. Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with the Funeral Service immediately following at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 pm. Interment will be in the Peach Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to: Alexandria United Methodist Church, 8286 W. Main St, Alexandria, KY 41001 or St. Elizabeth Foundation, Attn: Hospice/ Debbie’s Garden, 1 Medical Village Dr., Edgewood, KY 41017.

    I was blessed to have her as my mother-in-law - we have a void in our hearts with her passing but know she is now a guardian angel watching over us.
