Mary "Jo" DeMoss Mallery

Mary "Jo" (nee Mattingly) DeMoss Mallery, age 76, of California, KY passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY. She was a retired bookkeeper for Carmeuse Mining Company, Carntown, KY.  Jo was preceded in death by her first husband, Harlan DeMoss and a son, Jeffrey DeMoss. She  is survived by her husband, John Mallery; two daughters, Kimberly DeMoss (Greg) Jones and Becky DeMoss; three sons, Randy (Dine) DeMoss, Dan DeMoss and Chris DeMoss; three step-sons, Richard (Joni) Mallery, Christopher Rand (Tracy) Mallery, Sean Casey (Dee) Mallery; two brothers, Jim (Diane) Mattingly and Mike (Kathy) Mattingly; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria, Kentucky on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the Alexandria Funeral Home on Monday, February 9, 2015 beginning at 10:00am. Burial will be in the Alexandria Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 South Loop Rd, Edgewood, KY 41017.

    Kim, ,Randy, Dan, Chris and Becky Kevin and I are sorry for the loss of your mom. Aunt Jo was such a loving and caring lady. We always looked forward to seeing your family when we would make a trip to Kentucky. We will miss her. Love to all.

    Kim, Randy, Danny, Chris & Becky:
    I just heard about your Mom this morning. It grieves me no end to know how much you must be missing her. We hadn't kept in touch in the years since I left Kentucky but I always considered her a good friend and an additional Mom (since I am only a month older than Kim). When you leave a place, you always think that the people you left will still be there should you ever go back. I am sad that this is not the case with your Mom.
    May your good memories of her sustain you through your sorrow.
