Imogene "Jean" Back

Imogene (Jean) Miller Back, 89, of Cold Spring passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her residence surrounded by family. She met and married James E. Back while attending Berea College. They came to Campbell County in 1954. She gave hundreds of children in Campbell County a great educational foundation as a kindergarten teacher at Alexandria United Methodist Church. She was a member of Valley Homemakers and Crazy Quilters Quilt Club. She used her love of sewing to help provide comfort to countless hospice patients through her participation in the Comfort Club of Bluegrass Hospice Care. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Alexandria but also attended Christ Baptist Church in Cold Spring. Survivors include her son, Mike (Andrea) Back of Roswell, GA; daughters, Vicki (Jerry) Foley of California and Maggie (John) McGatha of Louisville; sisters, Louise Lanhan of Mason, OH; Carol (Jay) Langhurst of Chapel Hill, NC; and Geraldine (Bill) Barnes of Destin, FL; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, May 27 at Alexandria Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 7388 Turfway Road, Suite 200, Florence, KY 41042.
