Frank Gerald Poe Sr., 74, of Highland Heights, passed away on September 8, 2013 at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam and also served in Korea as well. He retired from the Army after serving for 22 years. He then retired from the Post Office. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sussannah. Frank is survived by his loving spouse of 47 years, Elizabeth. He is also survived by son, Frank (Gladys) Poe Jr; Grandchildren, Charles Roetting, Christina Justus, Frank Gerald Poe III, Britney Poe; Sister, Sharon Flemming; Brother in Law, Robert Moore; Sister in Law, Kathy Harter; four great grandchildren. Memorial Service with military honors held at the Alexandria Cemetery on Friday September 20,2013 at 10:00AM. I did not know Frank beyond a few hellos, but being a close friend to his grandson, Charlie, I know how much he will be missed. My condolences to his family and friends who celebrate his life today.
DeleteFrank was my grandfather. There's so much to say that I just don't know where to begin. For all intents and purposes, he was the man that raised me. I owe him so much and miss him so dearly. As prepared as we thought we were for his passing, losing him has been devastating. It was a long ten months but finally he has peace. He will be terribly missed.
