Howard Schwalbach II, died Saturday, January 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheila Nichols Schwalbach and a son Howard J. Schwalbach III, nephews Jeffrey Gibson of Texas, Chris Gibson of Alexandria, KY., Ken Elliott of Ohio and nieces Margaret Huber, Tammy Popp and Kathy DeBruler all of Alexandria, KY. Howard was a lifetime member & past president Of Can-Tuc's Primitive Weapons Club, life member of the Kentuckiana Arms Collector's Association, former member of the Ohio Gun Collector's Association, member of the Campbell County Bowhunters, life member and benefactor of the NRA, was voted Sportsman of the Year, Conservationist of the Year, and was a charter meber of the prestigious Over the Hill Gang of Alexandria, KY. Howard retired from Stevenson Photocolor of Norwood, OH. in 1996, where he was an offset pressman for 30 years. DeleteI brought in a powder horn that Howard had made this week to show someone, I had done scrimshaw work on several of his powder horns and I never did it to the one he gave me as it was far too beautiful. From all who remember Howard here at Stevenson and from the Stevenson family, our condolences he will be missed.

To Sheila and Bud, I wish I could find the word to ease the pain you are feeling right now but I can only offer you both my heartfelt sympathy. I am here for you both if you need anything now or in the future. Please don't hesitate to call. You both are in my prayers. Love You Both, Tonya
DeleteWe will always remember the good times we shared hunting at Land Between the Lakes and hunting/working at the Bowhunter's cabin. Howard always made us (and our children) feel welcome in his home or while among a group of hunters. He really knew his guns and helped Gerald (Jerry) out when he was building his Kentucky Long Rifle, which he still uses to this day. Sheila and Bud our prayers are with you both.
